Scotland 'Bridge Of Orchy 7'

November 2023 - 8th Scottish Adventure
Standard 7-day Scottish Adventure (click here for explanation)

Started from Bridge Of Orchy station for 7 Munro's

Duration: 7 days, 6 nights
Region: Argyll
Kilometers: X
Rise: X

Like every (Scottish) adventure, this time we made a plan for a week in which each time it depends on the circumstances (the weather) how many miles will eventually be walked

2 Munro’s during this adventure:

Stob a’ Choire Odhair -Stob Ghabhar

Flown to Inverness for the second time this adventure.
So the first 8 adventures this was Glasgow.

The “why” I explain on this page.
By now used to this option where the walk from hotel to station is even shorter than in Glasgow. Along the way, I come across enough stores to buy the last items (gas tanks that, of course, I can’t take on the plane) before starting my adventure.

There is also a large Tiso in Inverness but it is “off course” in an industrial area.
The Shops in the town itself are smaller but have everything I need at the last minute.

Most Beautiful Video

This time no video of my own but a taste of what soon my drone footage will look like!

Wonderful!

Details

1. 4 of the 5 Highest Mountains in the UK

Didn’t realize this until later but special to “do” so many high Munro’s in 1 adventure. The highest (Ben Nevis) I’ve done a few times in a previous life but since I’ve started counting again I’m so, also, going to do this one again.

2. Incredibly bad weather for June!

In the previous report I mentioned that it was special that so much snow had fallen in April. This time even worse weather but maybe that was also my own fault because I had packed shorts.

(Which was a good idea all week in May last year btw 😉)

3. Visited my first Scottish Love

In 1988! visited this beautiful country for the first time and now finally back to the location from where I first had the opportunity to hike through this beautiful area for a month back then.

Day 1

By train to Aviemore and deliberately did my shopping there.

Day 2

The first Munro.

Day 3

Tent leave (Sunday rest day!) for Munro 2 and 3.

Day 4

With full packs Munro 4 to then set up tent for Munro 5.

Day 5

Again with full packs a Munro to then ditch my pack for Munro 7.

Day 6

Walked into valley last night, pitched tent for a wonderful last day with 4 Munros.

Day 7

Last day hiked out of the valley to hike, via Rothiemurchus Lodge, back to Aviemore station.

First I ate a HUGE burger before taking the train to Inverness.
