, so this time hiking on and around this beautiful mountain.

Indeed, Scotland was still not an option (10 days of quarantine with testing on the 2nd and 8th day) so booked the TGV shortly before departure.

So that wasn’t too bad; 13:15 left Amsterdam for Paris Gare du Nord, took the metro to Paris Gare du Lyon and on to Avignon. (arrival 9:30 p.m.).

Luxury seat with plenty of legroom and a roomy folding table which, with the noice-cancelling headset on by default, made it manageable.

Immediately but a tip for the bag you see in the picture; I handed it in at the hotel and left it there the whole , hiking, week. I normally do the same but book another room the last night in the same hotel. (see Scotland and TMB Alpine).

In hindsight, it may make sense that this is also an option if you only stay at the hotel for 1 night but for me it was nice (wanted to put the bag in a locker at the station first) that this was possible.

I normally carry a small suitcase (carry-on luggage) on the plane but now this bag that does lock. (with their own locks).

This allows you to bring some (toilet) stuff but also headset, laptop, etc. that you don’t take with you while hiking yourself.
